2012 President's Award Winner

Holland Pump is proud to announce that the 2012 President's Award for outstanding service goes to John Hamilton of the Orlando Branch. The criteria used in selecting the person for this annual award are excellence in overall job performance, customer focus, leadership, quality of work, initiative, knowledge, and outstanding service to both customers and staff. John has been at Holland Pump since 1997, starting out as a Service Tech, he has attended many engine and pump schools while working his way to his current position as Service Manager in the Orlando Branch. John's commitment to his customers and service over the years has been outstanding. Recently, a customer who owns a Holland Pump called V.P. of Sales, Eugene Lant, to commend John for his help in solving an issue that he had with his pump. After several phone calls with John trying to diagnose his problem, John took the initiative to go to his job and solved his problem within minutes. The customer was so impressed that he called Eugene and instructed all of his people to buy all of their parts from Holland and to deal exclusively with John. John resides in Orlando with his wife, Angela, and daughter Emma, where they enjoy their weekends boating, fishing, and golfing. Congratulations John!

Holland Pump Team wins big in UCANF Fishing Tournament, Kids Division

Thomas CombsThe Holland Pump Team for the Utility Contractors Association of North Florida (UCANF) Fishing Tournament was sponsored by James Combs. Thomas Combs, son of James and grandson of Jim Combs, Holland Pump Jacksonville Branch Manager, competed in the Kids division of the tournament.

The Annual Fishing Tournament was held on Saturday, October 8 at the Sisters Creek marina in Jacksonville, Fl. Thomas competed in the Redfish, Flounder, Trout and Sea Bass categories. Thomas was rewarded for his efforts with a first place finish for catching 5.54 lbs. Redfish. He received a trophy and $50 American Express gift card. Congratulations Thomas on a job well done.

Holland Pump selected as pump supplier/ dewatering contractor for the FAKA UNION pumping station

Holland Pump has been selected as pump supplier/dewatering contractor for the Faka Union Canal Pump Station, part of the Picayune Strand Restoration Project in Collier County.

The $79 million project was awarded to Harry Pepper and Associates, Jacksonville, Fla., to construct a pump station, continue plugging the Faka Union Canal and removing 100 miles of roadway. Construction will begin in early 2011 and take about three years to complete. In October of 2009 a similar contract for $53 million was awarded to Pepper for the Merritt Canal phase of the project.

At completion, the entire project will include three spreader canals, three pump stations, more than 100 canal plugs, roadways and levees.

The project is nearly surrounded by public lands including the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge, Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge, Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Collier-Seminole State Park and the Picayune Strand State Forest.

JEA selects Holland Pump as a qualified vendor for Lift Station Rehabilitation Bypass Pumping

Holland Pump has recently been approved as a Bypass Vendor for the JEA Crews that maintain more than 1,200 Pump Stations in the Jacksonville, Fl area. To qualify for this status, Holland Pump has maintained a good safety record as a Company and completed the JEA required courses for Construction Site Safety, JEA Safety Leadership Development for Supervisors, OSHA 10 Occupational Safety and Health Training, Basic First Aid, CPR and AED.

Since being approved Holland has successfully done the Bypass Pumping for Seven Pines Pump Station, Conga Pump Station, Luana Drive Pump Station and Rolling River Pump Station and scheduled Hodges Pump Station for our next Bypass for JEA.

Holland Pump announces line of Prime 3 electric driven suction lift pumps for sewer bypass applications.

Holland Pump has designed a line of Prime 3 electric driven suction lift pumps for sewer bypass applications. This line will help the user finish the job faster by having better, more reliable components. For example, our priming system has 3x the prime of our leading competitors and is unlikely to clog. Holland Pumps have tungsten vs. carbide seals and standard viton elastomers to make them resistant to abrasion and heat.

The Prime 3 electric driven suction lift pumps are available in three models: High Head Pumps, Trash Pumps and Slurry Pumps. High Head Pumps are available in 3” to 10” models with a head capacity to 490 feet and a maximum flow to 7000 gpm. Trash Pumps are available in 4” to 30” models with a head capacity to 430 feet, suction lifts to 25”, can pass compressible, spherical solids from 3” – 10.2.” and have a maximum flow to 41,000 gpm. Slurry Pumps are available in 4” to 8” models with Vortex and Delta impellers available in hardened steel.

Holland Pump gains contract for three permanent SuperSilent axial flow pump packages

Holland Pump Manufacturing of Brunswick, GA has been awarded  the contract for three permanent SuperSilent axial flow pump packages for the Troup Indiantown Water Control District (TIWCD) temporary configuration in Martin County, Florida.
The hydraulically driven axial flow pump packages are sound attenuated skid packages and produce only 70 DBA at 23’ using the Contractors Pump Bureau sound testing method.  Each  pump produces 18,000 GPM at 20’ TDH.  The pump systems utilized John Deere 6068HF485 Tier 3 Engines and features Chevron Clarity inherently  bio-degradable hydraulic oil.

Holland Pump releases SuperSilent PT10TPC

Holland Pump has designed the PT10TPC, a SuperSilent Prime Assisted Suction Pump. Minimize neighborhood complaints and meet municipal requirements with a Super Silent pump. Featuring indefinite dry run capabilities, automatic self-priming, optional self-start and DOT trailers, Super Silent Pumps maintain noise levels at not more than 67 decibels at 23 feet using the rigorous Contractor’s Pumps Bureau Test Method.

The PT10TPC will feature the Prime 3 Priming System which includes a 50 cfm diaphragm vacuum pump that reprimes when water is only a few inches deep. The specifications of the PT10TPC model include: 10” pump size; Maximum head capacity of 255’; pass compressible solids to 3.38”; has a maximum flow of 4,200 gpm; and uses only 7.6 gallons of fuel at 1800 rpm.
